In 2001 Barry co-founded Paradigm Norton. Some twenty years later the firm has won over 27 professional awards, employ a team of 83 and clients have entrusted Paradigm Norton with over £1.3b of their funds to manage and oversee.

Barry has been a Board member of the Institute of Financial Planning [IFP] for eight years, was the President of the IFP between 2008 and 2010 and in 2018 became chair of the US based Financial Planning Standards Board [FPSB] – the organisation that seeks to benefit the global community by establishing, upholding and promoting worldwide professional standards in financial planning.
As the Chief Executive of Paradigm Norton, it’s Barry’s job to ensure that the firm stays ahead of the curve, constantly innovates, maintains its values-based approach to all that Paradigm Norton do and spread the word of financial planning more broadly. Barry is a regular speaker at financial planning conferences and events both in the UK and internationally.
Outside of work.
Barry has always been a work hard, play hard person. He loves ‘business building’ and growing and leading the team of amazingly talented financial planners and tax professionals. When Barry is not in one of the three offices, he can usually be found either at their family’s second home in the Lake District with his wife, three boys and two dogs, or during the ski season, on the slopes in Chamonix.
Barry loves business in all its guises. He spends his free time helping his three sons build their businesses and then takes time out to explore the mountains of Cumbria and the Lake District.
