Richard joined Paradigm Capital Management in 2002, becoming a director of Paradigm Norton in 2008. In 2019, Richard stood down from his role as director and is now acting as Head of Culture and Values.
During his 19 years’ service Richard has made a significant contribution to our firm through his leadership of key projects that have impacted the DNA of Paradigm Norton. Nationally he championed the role of giving and philanthropy as being a core element within a client’s holistic financial plan, which led to our firm being regarded as a profession leader within this area. Likewise, under Richard’s leadership, PN became the first advisory firm within the UK to advise clients on the utilisation of social investment tax relief (SITR) - a crucial step along the road to “PNr" and “PNi”, our current Responsible and Impact investment offerings.
Richard was the founding chair of the Paradigm Norton Trust, now very much an established part of PN life, and more recently, he founded and still chairs our Culture and Values Team, an outcome from which has been our accreditation as a B Corp.
This “final year role” for Richard therefore gives him the ideal opportunity to focus exclusively on the task of embedding the language and cultural voice into the foundations of the firm which reflect so many of the initiatives which he has passionately led over the last two decades.
Outside of work
Outside work Richard has several voluntary roles, which have both national and local profile, and is also fully immersed in family life. With children and grandchildren now on three continents he is enjoying getting to know other parts of the world.
